The Lucas Expansion Education Project provided some unique challenges. The project required three ceiling mounted projectors, two of which had to be precision registered onto the single main screen. We decided to fabricate a single projector enclosure to house all three projectors. The ceiling was packed with mechanical equipment, making it necessary to build a steel supporting structure with outriggers to pickup hanging and brace points where available.
The
room was stripped to allow installation of electrical and structural supports.
A custom engineered structural support for the projector housing was threaded
into the ceiling among the existing mechanical equipment.
The projector housing hangs from the structural support and provides noise
isolation and an aesthetically appealing unitized exterior appearance.
